Hello slightly bigger new car.
Some of you know how much I agonized over buying a new car. I should have done it a couple years ago, but if it ain't broke...but now pushing 14 years and at 178K miles, the trusty Subaru was becoming less trusty and a lot more expensive. The Subaru was from another millennium! It always treated me well, but the list of what needed work was getting huge - new brakes, new exhaust, all the struts, the AC only worked if it was under 80 degrees, the steering was getting slippy, new tires, it burned oil for years, but now it's leaking, and so much rust it wouldn't pass inspection.
Why did I wait so long?
I am the type who researches a thing to death before making a decision. If it's a technology thing, like even a tiny camera, it's probably out of production by the time I make up my mind. There's a reason I still have a rotary phone.
So now I have this new car, that I expect will last me a very long time. It had better. And modest vehicle though it is, there are now car payments to be made. Bleh. I'm yankee, I hate car payments.
I've been looking at all of the numbers, and it's looking more and more like there will be some price changes at the shop. Probably the delivery fee. I hate doing it, but it's been almost 5 years since the last time it went up, and well, everything is more expensive, not just cars.
New year, new changes.
But at least me and the flowers will arrive safely.
