Prom Flowers 2012 - Vintage Romance

These first prom flowers of the 2012 season were made for a fabulous photo shoot we did with Baystate Parent Magazine!

The look for the shoot was vintage romance with soft pale colors, feminine fabrics, and delicate flowers.

First up, a frothy feminine nosegay.  This might be my favorite nosegay ever!  Baby's breath takes on a whole new look when it's used like this with the pop of just a few anemones.  Imagine it with a couple orchids or a cluster of roses - sweet!

Finish it off with a feathery collar and you have a darling bouquet for prom night!

Another nosegay - here a twist on classic cymbidium orchids and tulle.  Old school would have put these two together in a ginormous shoulder corsage.  Here we've made them into a prom worthy bouquet with the newest sparkle tulle and a splash of feathers off to one side.

This net, tulle, and caramel rose pouf can be worn fascinator style towards the front of the head, angled over one eye (you know, like you saw so many folks doing at the royal wedding last spring!), or can be placed further back on the head to accent a romantic hair style.

Sometimes one dramatic bloom is all you need to make a statement.  This orchid is composed of three blossoms layered together for more impact.  Add a feathery accent and put it all on a haircomb and you have one major fashion statement!

A classic wrist corsage with mini cymbidium orchids and the newest metallic ribbons.  You can't shine too much on prom night!

This cascading wrist corsage is a new look with flowers that flow down the satiny ribbon.  Flower gems in some of the blooms pick up the crystals in the chunky pearl bracelet.

Not feeling the wrist corsage?  What about these flower bangle bracelets?!  They can add a pop of fun to any prom look!

Last but not least - a most dainty and darling flower and crystal garland.  This can be worn either in the hair as a hair band or coronet or worn around the neck as a one of a kind piece of floral jewelry!

This is the year of the flower accessory!  Don't feel yourself limited to just a wrist corsage...think of what will finish off your prom look and then think how flowers can take that up a notch even further.

It's all about finding your prom style and letting it shine!
