Prom Photo Shoot

We were lucky enough to be asked by Baystate Parent Magazine if we would like to participate again in their prom flower photo shoot!

We had a blast last year creating fanciful flowers for the prom layout and couldn't wait to do it again.

I did not get to stay for the actual photo shoot, but I did get to hang around while everyone was preparing and take a few behind the scenes shots.

This year they decided to go for a vintage vibe, kind of an Anthropology meets Worcester prom thing.  Pics were taken at Davis Publishing in The Printer's Building right here in Worcester!

Hair and makeup was provided by the team from Toni and Guy Academy.

One of my favorite pieces was this pouf of netting, tulle, and caramel roses.  Vintage femininity!

The students at Toni and Guy created inspiration boards for each of their models to help in the styling.  Sweet and girly were definitely the words of the day.

It was interesting watching flowers get added to hair - now that I see it can take three hands to do, I can appreciate why going to a hair professional will make all the difference in pulling this look off!

Another inspiration board - a lot of loose, romantic curls, and hair flowers are definitely in for prom 2012!

I thought the three or four lipsticks I have rolling around in the bottom of my bag were plenty...

It's all about the styling folks!  The dress, the hair, the jewelry, the they pull the look together, are they all giving the same vibe?  I think they stopped with four necklaces on this model.  Doesn't mean you should wear four necklaces, but certainly think about layering your accessories, and see how it looks!

One last "I'm waiting for my closeup" shot!  Do you like the delicate flower and crystal hairband?  Just another hair option to consider.

I'll let you know as soon as Baystate Parent hits the stands!  We can't wait to see the finished looks!
