Summer Flowers

So when someone asks a florist, "What's in bloom in the summer time?", and we pause for a moment, it's not because we can't think of any flowers.

It's because what we can think of are flowers that generally no one ever comes in asking for -weedy, wild, grassy things.

Or we can think of flowers that are here one week and gone the next, not very helpful for predicting exactly what will be available the week of you event.

Here is a selection of summer blooms for you to consider.

Sorghum.

Mullein - Verbascum.

Zinnias.

More unusual sunflower varieties.

Poke weed.

Oregano.

Brown-eyed-susans.

Helichrysum - Straw flower.

Hosta.

Clematis.

Dahlias.

Centaurea.

Nigella - Love in a Mist pods.

Monarda - Bee Balm.

Monarda - Bee Balm.

Cosmos.

Do you have any favorites that are only around for a week here or there at the peak of the season?
