Prom Flower FAQ's

The Society of American Florists consumer web site, About Flowers, has a great article with prom flower FAQ's.

My favorite is the number one FAQ:
  • How far in advance should I order my flowers for the prom?
  • Ordering at least two weeks in advance so that your florist has time to order the necessary quantities should ensure that you get what you really want.

Two weeks! I wish people would order two weeks in advance, then I could plan my staffing schedule and my flower purchases accordingly. But folks are waiting later and later to order their flowers, with some folks waiting till mere hours before the prom to place their order. And then making really specific requests, like salmon roses, which had we known in advance, we would have been able to fill.

If you need prom flowers from Sprout for this week, the week of Mother's Day, you may find yourself out of luck if you don't have your order in by May 5th. We have prior commitments to a college graduation, Mother's Day, and a corporate event, so I'm pretty sure that we're going to have to limit the amount of prom work we're going to do.

Order quick!

Rock on!

We have the largest private school's academy ball on Saturday, they schedule it for mother's day week-end every year-jerks! They happen to be the most last minute, overbearing, overcritical and hard to please crowd!
How awesome that teacher appreciation, nurses day, mothers day and prom all share the same week! Not! ;)

My mother was a professor of nursing whose birthday was also May 7th - quadruple whammy!

Good thing she was a little old for the prom...
